The history of Szczecin goes back to the 8th century. It has
gained the general look and atmosphere throughout the ages of
different rules and influences. It is hard to believe but Szczecin has
been under control of: Polish or precisely, Slavic Tribes, Germans
or Prussians, Teutonic Knights, the Swedish, French and Russians.
Such diversified inheritance makes our town unique and
unforgettable. Szczecin is the city of monuments, vast panoramas
and green. Secession architecture is enriched by numerous parks
and one of the biggest and most interesting cemeteries in Europe,
with many precious and exotic trees and bushes. You can not miss
the Pomeranian Dukes' Castle or one of its kind, Chrobry
Embankment. The stroll along the plane tree allies in Jasne Błonia
Park is something you will not forget.
The closest surrounding is dominated by forests and water. Szczecin
is situated 60km from the Baltic Sea, on the Odra River and Dąbie
Lake, which makes it attractive to sailors.
