Dom Lekarski has extensive experience in ophthalmology, our speciality
being cataract surgery, which we remove by means of ultrasound using
a technique known as phacoemulsification. We implant foldable intraocular
lenses (IOL) through a very small incision, allowing patients a shorter
recovery time and minimizing pain. We use only advanced surgical materials
from leading manufacturers such as Alcon.
Recently we have introduced the absolutely innovative solution of one of
the leading ophthalmic companies to our patients. Carl Zeiss Meditec has revolutionized
expectations for post-cataract refractive outcomes with the IOL Master. It
delivers unmatched precision and repeatability for the highest clinical confidence,
which results in improved vision and a higher quality of life after IOL implantation.
All operations are performed by highly skilled eye surgeons and post-operative effects are
comparable to results from leading centers, due to our emphasis on quality control.
In recent years we have performed 10000 cataract removal procedures, five thousand per
surgeon. Local patients have operations on an outpatient basis and hospitalization is
limited to a few hours. However, we do make allowances for longer stays, which can be
especially important for overseas patients.
